Produktgroup: Centrifugal casting

Centrifugal casting is a casting method in which liquid metal is poured into a rotating mold, filled and solidified into a casting under the action of centrifugal force. According to the direction of the rotation axis of the mold, the centrifugal casting machine is divided into three types: horizontal, vertical  and inclined type. The horizontal centrifugal casting machine is mainly used for pouring various tubular castings, such as water pipes and gas pipes of gray cast iron ductile iron. Carbon steel, alloy steel pipe, and double-layer steel rolls that require different compositions in the inner and outer layers. Vertical centrifugal casting machines are mainly used to produce various ring castings and smaller non-circular castings.

The casting mold used in centrifugal casting, according to the shape, size and production batch of the casting, can choose non-metallic type (such as sand mold, shell mold or investment shell mold), metal mold or coating layer or resin sand layer in the metal mold Of casting. The number of revolutions of the mold is an important parameter of centrifugal casting. There must be sufficient centrifugal force to increase the compactness of the casting metal, and the centrifugal force must not be too large, so as not to hinder the shrinkage of the metal. Especially for lead bronze, excessive centrifugal force will cause component segregation between the inner and outer walls of the casting. Generally, the rotation speed is about 1500 revolutions per minute.

The characteristic of centrifugal casting is that the molten metal fills and solidifies under the action of centrifugal force, the metal feeding effect is good, the casting structure is dense, and the mechanical performance is good; casting hollow castings does not require pouring risers, and the metal utilization rate can be greatly improved. Therefore, for certain castings of specific shapes, centrifugal casting is a material-saving, energy-saving, and high-efficiency process, but special attention must be paid to effective safety measures.
